This realistic approach by the well-known Bochum theologian Günter Thomas is opposed to an overly harmonious and romantic understanding of nature that has emerged in the shadow of the formula »Peace, Justice and Integrity of creation«. The various sections address contemporary debates on evolution and the goodness of creation, question the drama of biblical prehistory, and evaluate experiences of the pandemic. They combine insights into the theologies of creation by J. Moltmann, K. Barth and D. Bonhoeffer with provocative interventions into the ecclesial debate.
Günter Thomas, Dr. theol., Dr. rer.soc., Jahrgang 1960, studierte Evangelische Theologie, Philosophie und Soziologie in Tübingen, Princeton (USA) und Heidelberg. Er ist Professor für Systematische Theologie an der Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Research Associate in Systematischer Theologie an der Theologischen Fakultät der Universität Stellenbosch / Südafrika und Co-Principal Investigator des internationalen Projektes »Enhancing Life«.
